Wabasha Eagle Viewing Platform

Bald Eagle spotted at Wabasha Viewing Platform
View Enlarged Image |
One of the birding Meccas of Minnesota, hundreds gather along the concrete platform at the banks of the Mississippi between November and March, armed with a varied arsenal of telescopes, binoculars and cameras, braving the below-zero temps in the coldest months to catch a glimpse of one of the United State's most celebrated raptors.
A minute's drive from the heart of Wabasha, the Eagle Viewing Platform is one of the most popular places to watch the annual Bald Eagle migration. The platform has two scopes, and is staffed with local volunteers from 1 to 3 PM every year from November 21 to March 29. |
