Established by Drs. Gary Duke and Patrick Redig in 1974, the University of Minnesota Raptor Center has been dedicated to helping preserve and protect some of our greatest and most legendary avian species. They have cared for rehabilitated our countries' most celebrated birds of prey, including the Great Horned Owl and the Bald Eagle, and are a Mecca for naturalists and veterinarians.

The Raptor Center also plays a large role in our community, taking great steps to educate the public about the importance of biodiversity, and the vital role raptors play in our environment. They have a committed staff of curators, veterinareans, and naturalists, as well as a dedicated team of volunteers.

Not only do they play a major and very active role in educating the public and protecting our native species, they're also just all-around great people. Their head curator, Katie Hanson, personally took the time to introduce us to many of the majestic raptors featured in this project. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Katie, and to all the staff at the Raptor Center.
