Nudging elbows with the Outing Lodge and hundreds of acres of farmland, Pine Point Park is one of the most scenic recreation spots in the Stillwater area. Trails are open year round, and provide access to forests, wetland, and restored prairie, as well as Loon and Louise Lake. The trails span five miles, and serve as one of the major corridors to the Minnesota Gateway Trail. The trails are open to horseback riders and cyclists in the spring, summer, and fall, and cross-country skiers in the winter.

This park has something for every season, but if you visit between mid June and early October, you'll be able to take a trip back in time. When the settlers first set foot in Minnesota, it was mostly prairie, with five-foot-high grasses and herds of grazing Bison. While you'll be hard-put to find a Bison in Stillwater today, the trails along Pine Point are a part of a managed prairie restoration project.

Animals are also quite abundant, with raptors and migrant waterfowl, White-tailed Deer and Cottontail Rabbits, Beaver, Muskrat, Red Squirrel, and if you're very patient (or lucky) Red Fox and Coyote. Crops are planted along the Western edge of the park to provide a food source for wildlife, a great place to sit and watch for deer in the evening.
