If you live in the Stillwater area, Lake McKusick Trail is definitely worth the forty five minutes it will take you to liesurely stroll from the parking area to the golf course and back.. The trail boasts a variety of native wildflowers including Wild Bergamot, Butterfly Weed, Swamp Milkweed and daisy fleabane, and wildlife, including Egrets, Herons, Red-winged Blackbirds and Monarch butterflies are quite abundant through late spring and summer.
Directions:
From Interstate 694, head East on Highway 36. Make a left on County Road 15 (Manning Ave). Take a right on McKusick Rd (about 3 miles down). Parking is available at the Southwest corner of McKusick Rd and N Owen St.
