Woodpeckers and Creeping Birds

Perching Birds | Woodpeckers and Creeping Birds | Raptors | Waterfowl | Shorebirds | Ground Birds

Woodpeckers and creepers are set apart mostly by their posture; that is, the way they "walk" up trees instead of flying from branch to branch. Nearly all creepers are insectovores, though many will also eat protein-rich seeds and nuts, as well as suet.
